Carpathia, in cooperation with the Crime investigation and
evaluation bureau of the Slovak Police forces, have organized a
small exhibition with the topic: “Victory over fascism” in
the premises of the M. Hodža elementary school on Podjavorinskej
street in Bratislava. This exhibition was meant for the pupils
of this and other elementary schools in the surroundings and the aim
was to bring closer the events to our youngest generation. On this
exhibition, we have presented some exhibits from the collections of
the Crime investigation bureau as well as the collections of our
members. Club representatives have prepaired a professional
presentation for the children, in which we, with the help of
pictures and the exhibits, tried to explain the children the basics
of this conflict. The children could see and touch original weapons
and equipment of all armies, which took part in this conflict, among
which were such rare exhibits as the Czechoslovak heavy machine gun
Mk.37, German MG-34 and MG-42 machine guns, Russian Maxim heavy
machine gun, as well as Russian, U.S., German and Czechoslovak
rifles and machinepistols. We also had a model of an armored train
from the Slovak national uprising, which was kindly lent to our club
for the purpose of this exhibition by the Museum of transport
branch of the Slovak technical museum. |
